The first order of business was to get some Malasadas from Home Maid for breakfast. I got the cream filled ones. They were so warm and melted in my mouth.
There was monk seal on the rocky beach near to the end of the beach. If I were a monk seal I'd choose to come up on a soft sandy beach! everyone gave it plenty of space.
I really don't like walking on the rocky beach so the snorkeling had better be good. It was even more hard on the feet than at Honalua. We all went out into the water and I have to admit it was awesome! The water was calm and the coral expansive. i stayed out a long time but could have stayed longer. Some of these are R's.
Teardrop and ornate butterfly fish
Raccoon butterfly fish
Sailfin tang (I had to looked it up)
Busy crowd at this coral
Friendly tangs: yellow and convict. This is the place to be for yellow tangs. I saw tons of them and their babies.
Generic fish
Blackie and a parrot fish
Trumpet fish
When we got out of the water a Monk Seal volunteer had arrived and strongly invited us from going back in that area I guess in case the seal wanted to get in the water. We sat in the sun to dry a bit and then moved on. The cove was quite crowded at that point.
We decided to check out Maluaka by Maui Prince. Easy parking and facilities and oh so pretty! We parked ourselves in the shade except for the kid who needed warmth. He didn't want to go out snorkeling. I think he is jaded after his dive experience.
Surgeon fish
Honu
Big blackies
J fish

It was Huli Huli chicken day again at the green church and I happened to have just enough in my pocket. They gave J one of their ribs to try but we didn't have the $ with us.. Wow, it was good!
For dinner we went to Monkey Pod Kitchen at 5pm for Happy Hour. On the way I saw a Tesla car. I wonder where he gets it serviced...
At MPK we sat outside and could see the ocean. It was almost too windy.
I have a new favorite drink- Mai Tai with Lilikoi foam. It is heavenly but it packs a wallop. One is enough! J had the Jetsetter's a Julep, and R dared to try a Valley Isle Kombucha instead of his usual Sprite. He liked it.
J ordered the Portuguese soup; J and R shared the raw bar; J and I had salads, and we all shared two pizzas. It was all very good!
Then we headed down to the Wailea shopping center to listen some live Hawaiian music by Maunalua. Nice Slack Key guitar. Also good were the tasty samples in the area.
Went home and did some packing for the next leg in our travels - Molokai! Since there isn't much to say about the next day on Maui I will be posting next on the Molokai forum. I'll try to keep up daily but I'm working on these posts later and later each day...but I will do it!
